ABOUT SAFER

SAFER, or the Student Alliance for Firearm Education and Reform, is a student-run organization dedicated to ending gun violence. Our mission is to increase gun control laws, share survivors' stories, and educate and empower our peers to take action against gun violence. We believe that through education and activism, we can create a safer world for everyone.

This team is based in Fayetteville, AR. We created SAFER as a response to a personal and traumatic gun-related event we experienced in August of 2022. Before August 2022, the Gun Violence Fight was something we were aware of but not necessarily personally and emotionally involved in. After August of 2022, we realized the importance of the fight, fighting to save lives, fighting for safety, and fighting for security. We also became aware the shocking lack of gun safety policies in place here in our state. We believe we can make a difference. Join us in our fight against gun violence.
